Breaking News: 19 Aug 2010. Races 7 & 8 today.  As usual, the starter had to go to a black flag to get us all away for both of these races. Race 7 was held in a gusty, shifty westerly that dropped out to the top of the genoa range by race end.  We had a good tussle with the two all girl German teams, and managed to hold them both out at the finish for the first time. A good second work and run to the finish saw us pass quite a few boats to finish 23rd (preliminary results) which was exciting! Lots of boats at all the corners meant positions changed often and quickly. Race 8 saw the breeze continuing to moderate. We were nearly caught out with our jib still on deck but made a quick headsail change when the race needed to be restarted. Another tight race in challenging conditions, we got home in 34th place. It has been great to feel like we are improving every day. Only one day left (2 races), and then it will be time to sail back to the launching harbour and pack up.
